AFLAC’s WEBSITE REDESIGN

As one of the few Art Directors involved with the reimagining of Aflac’s website, our goal was to seamlessly integrate the iconic Aflac duck throughout the site. The duck would serve as facilitator and educator (and comic relief), guiding customers through the benefits of Aflac’s offerings. Each different page/vinette needed to be equally funny and informative. The entertainment value resulted in longer click-through rates, which increased viewer exposure to the benefits of owning Aflac. This innovative content strategy extended beyond the website, incorporating engaging elements into the duck’s social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

The impact of our redesign was immediate and significant, earning widespread acclaim and multiple awards. The website received two prestigious Webby awards, including the coveted Webby People’s Choice award. It also garnered a Hive Award for UI, a Hive Award Honorable Mention for Design, and a Telly Bronze award for Animation, underscoring the project's success and my critical role in its execution.

Aflac for business

I oversaw the development of the marketing surrounding the launch of Aflac for Brokers, an initiative that targeted the attention of the Insurance salesforce. Recognizing how vital they were to the growth of the company, we developed a campaign leveraging the equity of the duck to highlight the benefits to the broker. Within two years, sales generated by brokers rose 220%.
