Espolòn Tequila’s branding is centered around la Día de los Muertos, the day of the dead. The recognizable stylized skeleton illustrations grace every bottle and is a central theme throughout their marketing. Our agency was planning several brand activations and product launch events and needed something cool that would get people posting to their socials. So I came up with the “Skelfie”. It was a normal mirror on the fringes, but once you found yourself in front of it some fancy bit of projection mapping turned your face into a cartoon skeleton. It was so popular, the client hasn’t held an event without it since.
